Is this a new filter in town?

Featured Replies

Nope, Pipercross have made them for the Fabia vRS for ages. It's what I've got fitted to mine.

Hi We sell these

Keep an eye out as we are doing a deal on these soon.

I will see if I can get this organised tomorrow

Sarah

Do the Pipercross filters still need to be oiled?

yep, they come with a small can of spray oil (or at least the one for my MK1 golf did)

Apparently the new ones (at least the VAG ones) don't..... not sure if oiling them would actually do any harm though...... :D

Chris

The new ones are designed to be run dry to keep owners with a sensitive MAF happy but applying the little yellow can certainly won't do any harm to the filter.

How do they differ from a Green Cotton one Sarah?

They fit the airbox properly ;) They're also a dry filter so even less risk of oil contamination to the MAF. Performance wise, I doubt there'd be anything in it..... :D

Chris

All the modern VAG ones are not oiled.

This is for MAF cars.

As I said I am going to try to organise a good price on these

Will see if I can do that today for you

These filters are Foam filters.

I am having one for my car as they have interested me so much.

The foam has 9 layers varying in filtration.

Larger particals are cought on the outside and finer particals to the centre.

This will keep the air flow good for longer.

The Green and the K & N`s are known to have better air flow at the start of their life and just after cleaning , but the Pipercross one will keep the flow for longer.

I do very very high mileage so I am going to have one for mine.

Our prices at the moment for these are

I have a Green Cotton one already Sarah so I have no plans to change it. I just wondered if there was any performance difference between the makes?

2.0 TFSI and 1.9/2.0 TDi models are catered for.

Skoda Octavia Mk 2 1.4 16v 05/04 - PP1574

Skoda Octavia Mk 2 1.9 TDI 05/04 - PP1621

Skoda Octavia Mk 2 2.0 TDI 05/04 - PP1621

You will tend to find that the majority of the Octy2`s will ahve the P1621 filter.

The 1.4 16v`s do tend to have different filters

A mild washing up liquid will be fine, but you can also get a dedicated cleaning additive from Pipercross (through Awesome of course). Part no. C9003
