Furby VRS Recent Mag Review

Featured Replies

0-60 ... Being a diesel, the vRS, is a bit outgunned by a lot of things, but... From say, a 20 mph start, to.. 70... it would hold its own against a lot of high powered cars.

I had a quick look at the mag test mentioned and I think that's exactly what the times said. From what I remember the Fabia was fastest in just about every category apart from 0-60.

hopefully not:thumbup:

It's gotta be. 7.5 seconds in a standard Fabia vRS is way crazy. That's hitting Golf GTi MK5 territory from standing start.

Mil, your 2.0 may be fast, but look back through the old threads - according to the Fabia vRS drivers, they can out accelerate an F16 on full afterburners. By the time they've done the pikey mods, nothing short of a Saturn 5 will be able to keep up! :D

Diesel drivers eh? :D

I can vouch for that, mine does 0 - 60 in 2.5 seconds and is doing 155mph when it hits the quater mile (in just over 9 secs):D

ok well it's what the time said. who am I to say it wasn't true and even if the timing gear is out (which what it looks like) then it's not going to be more than 1 second out surely?. Anyway I'm not bothered if it was stated to take 13.secs to 60mph as it still makes me smile!

My Fabia is not re-mapped as far as I know, I 've had it from new.

At the end of the day I will never do 0-60 on a public road.

check out the autocar review at www.fabia-vrs.com and the fastest 0-62 they got from the fabia vRS (standard) was 7.2 seconds, and I'm sure they were using reliable timing gear ;)... (outside temperature was 0 (freezing))

note: that was the fastest, not their average, which was 8.2 seconds......

7.2, in 0 Degrees, easily would 'sort of' add on another 15/20 brake. Not literally, but in terms of how cold it was.

mmm why I thought I'd note the temp, as it does help :)

Was it Autocar who also got silly 0-60 times out of their "standard" Octy Mk1? Turned out that the car was slightly remapped

Chris

Check out the in-gear acceleration times, the wee furby humps everything in the test!!:D Even beats the 200bhp Clio by a full second in the 30-50mph 3rd gear test!!:D Think it should have finished alot higher up the order than it did, it holds it value the best, costs about 10p per mile cheaper and is the chepest new!! I've owned a Mini Cooper S and to tell you the truth, IMHO is crap compared to my wee Furby!!:D:thumbup:

Can anyone do a scan of this feature in TEST DRIVE?? ;) ;)

I'd heard that too lol......

it was auto-express that chipped their long term test furby vRS with superchips to 160 bhp and they said their 0-60 went down from 8.1 (standard) to 7.0 seconds :)
