Drive shaft hitting ARB on Lowed SLXi Turbo

Featured Replies

I've recently brought a SLXi turbo which the previous owner fitted vRS bumbers to and fitted AVO suspension and lowered it. When ever I corner hard to the left I can hear a clunk and grind noise which I have worked out is the driveshaft hitting the ARB. I've realised that the ARB is different to the vRS ARB, mine loops over the top of the driveshaft.

Has anyone else got this problem and how could I solve it?

Any help will be greatly appriciated.

Thanks.

Haven't got any experience on this one but I know its an issue for the Golf mkiv boys have. You could try asking over on www.uk-mkivs.net if no one can help here.

Common issue, can either be sorted by longer ARB links or fitting a vRS ARB if you have the mounting lugs on the damper for them.

Can anyone suggest where I can get longer ARB links from?

Also would the FK Front Anti-Roll Bar from Awesome GTI solve the problem and how much hassle would a ARB be to fit?

Thanks for the help.

try reading the post above from awesome ?

I did read the post and I went to the website and checked out the recomended ARB but I noticed another one which was a cheaper option and I was asking if it would do the job for me.

Cheers

You need to drop the front subframe to change the arb, the car will then need four wheel alignment,

Can anyone suggest where I can get longer ARB links from?

you can get them for the polo/lupo from demon tweeks so i imagine you can get the mk4golf/octavia ones as well

The following info was pulled from the Awsome site regarding the FK front ARB

FK Front Anti-Roll Bar
