Fabia vRS, buy New or Second Hand......??

Featured Replies

Been looking for a while now, seen all sorts of cars on Autotader.co.uk, ageing between 54 and 05 with various mileages and all between

if you can get the right spec used car for a good price then go for it , but then the feeling of actually driving a brand new car that nobody has ragged may overweigh that feeling , especially if you can get a new one with cruise for less than £12k , i think Skoda has a mod that fixes the stutter available now

www.drivethedeal.com (where my ibiza is coming from) can do you a standard furby vRS for a shade over

i personally will not buy a new motor as they loose value as soon as you sign the paperwork, although its not cost as much as some cars, i always buy second hand cars but personal pref, i brought my 04 vrs for just over 8k with 42k on the clock which sounds a lot but i travel less than 8k miles per year so it will be lower than norm milage when time comes to sell.

really its down to you me its why pay more when you can have one slightly older for much less.

good luck and either way am sure you will be pleased.

with cruise and metallic paint for

I'm just waiting on my new Corrida Red vRS to be delived for the 1st of September. I was in the same situation and was able to get a new car, zero miles, unabused (I hope!), full 36 months warranty for not much more that a 9-15k miles pre-owned one in a clour I wasn't that keen on (silver). I was under

Adam, my view on buying new cars has always been the same as yours, until recently.

I've been waiting for the price of vRS' to come down for the best part of 2 1/2 years because i didn't want to pay through the nose for one (plus i've been saving up! But that hasn't gone too well, life keeps getting in the way).

It just seems that i'm not saving much buy buying second hand, unless i go for something with 30k plus on it...... but i could spend what i save on reto fitting stuff like cruise control etc.

Maybe i'm just being too picky.....??

I used to be indecisive, but now i'm not sure......

I'm not an expert on the car market and the Fabia vRS was my 1st new car but to me the 2nd hand ones still seem very expensive. I'd buy new if you can afford it.

You can't beat that feeling of a new car easily and for the sake of saving not that much money losing out on that feeling is just not worth it imho.

Mines two years old now, nudging 20k and i've not regretted buying new for one minute.

I got mine from 'Drive the deal' and they provide a very good service if you are not able to get the right savings from your dealer.

If i was buying new i wouldn't be able to afford Xenons, ESP and a sunroof. I could just about stretch to cruise control. I managed to fit cruse control to my current car although it was never available on the car in this country, only on the continent. I couldn't live without it now because of the motorway mileage i cover (plus it noticeably improved my fuel economy!!)

I'm gonna have to wait til i get back from holiday though ( i'm off to Arizona tomorrow :) :) :) ) so i've got plenty of thinking time......
