Strange behaviour around 2200 rpm

Featured Replies

When I drive with constant acceleration and passes approx. 2200 rpm the car very often starts to behave in a jerky fashion for 1-2 seconds until I passes 100-200 rpm higher in the revs. This happens in almost any gear when I accelerate through this rev range. I have a 4X4 1.9 TDI (06 mod). Does anybody know what the reason for this behaviour could be (and is this normal)?

It is almost embarrassing because I feel that people think I am a bad driver:D

It would be good to know as I also get this at around 1,900 rpm and with it being a 1.9 TDi the engine is producing max torque at the point in time. -

I've been told by a service technician that it was because the throttle is 'drive by wire', but as my old Laguna was essentially the same mechanism and it was one of the only things that worked on the car, I find it hard to believe.

Hi, I am new to the forum

I get similar behaviour on my new Octy 2ltr TDI DSG - between 1,400 and 2,000 revs, a single hestitation then OK for a few more miles.

Have it booked in for a check next week, will update

Took my 1.9Tdi Octavia II in for another matter last week and mentioned that it was having the problem mentioned above.

Apparently Skoda are sending the dealer a disk with an ECU software update on that should hopefully get rid of it.

I'll post on here again when it gets sorted.
