Seat swap??!

Featured Replies

Folks,

Having sold the Fabia VRS for something with non backache inducing seats and a little more fun but totally impractical - (MR2) I find myself missing the VRS' 'real world' performance and something which you take for granted = a boot!;).

The question is...does anyone know if the front seats of an Octy VRS will fit straight into the Fabia? ...I know the other option would be just to get an Octy VRS but I don't need a 'family' car and IMO I think the Mk1 looks really dated.

Any advise as always greatly appreciated:)

Fabia seats wont fit an Octavia and visa versa, the subframe mountings are of a different type.

Just wanted to say I agree the Fabia VRS seats are bad. They give me a bad back within minutes of driving. I have never had this problem before with a car, and I have had passengers say they aren't comfortable, when asked.

Others cars I have had, had lumbar support, the VRS seats give no support. I use a pad as lumbar support, this helps.

I drive only 17K a year, otherwise the Fabia would have to go.:(

Thats weird. Everyone who I've asked, including myself "So what do you think to the seats, oh yes they're very nice" lol has said they're very comfortable. Admittedly I haven't done any serious distance in them yet, longest being about an hour or so, but no problems to report. Maybe a change of driving position would help? I've got a Corsa to use as well at the moment, and I have to keep fiddling about with different seat back angles and seat position to try and get more comfortable. At least with the Fabia, if you want to recline the seat a bit more, you can bring the wheel towards you so that you don't have to stretch your arms any more. Might be worth an experiment.

I have no problems with the seats in my vRS, I've had a fair few cars too! I've driven 400 miles in one day and slept in them (very early start one morning and I was tired!). I never suffered with back ache afterwards.

Jon TDI put some Audi TT seats in his Fabia, though I believe he had a bit of a job to fit them it... but do look the dogs...

We just did 1200 miles around the West of Ireland. No Backache with either the wife or myself. Suggest that you need to sort out your driving position!

The Vrs averaged 58mpg and I get more delighted with it every day.

My point is that the seats lack lumbar support, a serious oversight I think.

I have tried different positions etc, but the lower back support is very poor.

Guess they suit some people, but if you need lumbar support then tough.

you can buy lumber support pads from the likes of Demon Tweeks , i don't have a problem with the VRS seats but have to admit when i was in my brothers Fabia elegance i didn't think those seats were that comfortable
