Free (sort of) Vehicle Checks

Featured Replies

There was an article in the Daily Mail that mentioned the above website. I gave it a go (you have to supply your details - yes I'm going to get spam/sales calls by the dozen). It then emails you a link similar to the one below with the reg. no. you originally entered.

My car came up clear. I googled for a dodgy car, and sure enough it indicates a problem (it is actually a CAT D). If you want you can then phone their premium rate phone line for more info. :thumbdwn:

With the above link you can put in any reg. you want to check without going through the registration process I think. The checks are for stolen/write off/finance  .

What do you reckon - any use?

EDIT:

As a result of this, it may not be that useful/accurate after all!

Tweaking the link doesn't appear to work for any of my previous cars- just says we have no info on them - so I'm guessing you need to go through the registration process.....

Reading it more carefully, their database only holds problem car details, so if they "have no info." that means your car is clean (or their information is incomplete!). You definitely don't have to register to use the direct link substituting any reg. no.
