1st Trophy for Mini Road Runner Rallying

Featured Replies

Well the mini has won its first trophy.

On Sunday we were out competing on a hillclimb at Scamonden Dam. Nev was drivng and I was on the spanners, although I spent most of the day letting an alarming amount of air out of the tyres to get traction out of the tightest corner.

We won our class which wasn't hard as we were the only entry in the class but we had a very impressive fastest time of 33.88 seconds which was only two seconds slower than the leading modified mini.

Our next event is a production car trial on Sunday 3rd September in which we are both driving, followed by the Firefly Rally on 9th/10th September.

The fun is starting to come along now. Nev has been enjoying the driving whilst I've been working hard.

We have two weeks to get the car ready for the Firefly now which means fitting a protective undertray, forest tyres, different exhaust and basically checking nothing has come loose.

We had a spirited two hour training run on Friday night which was really intensive and triing so the five hours of the fFirefly is going to be a real test of how well we perform as a team in the car.

Well done
