Fabia Essential Mods

Featured Replies

Just thought I'd ask the question of what you thought were the essential mods for the Fabia VRS, I would assume top of most lists would be Lowering???

I'm hoping to buy one on Saturday (Provisionally mine Subject to seeing it), so will be looking at a few mods at some point.....

This will be my daily driver, I'm not interested in chipping (well not straight away anyway!), don't want to loose too much comfort (when considering Lowering) etc etc, just wanted peoples thoughts....... and what products to go for.....i.e. springs or full kit etc......

Thanks

Tom

Eibach springs and dampers and Jabba rear ARB should sort the handling (and looks) out nicely without compromising ride quality :D

Jabba rear ARB. :)

I've currently gone back to standard suspension from eibach pro kit and dampers. Dont regret it.

Personaly think the eibach kit doesnt reduce total body roll well not by much anyway. Just reduces the rate it which it gets their if you know what I mean. It does however make the steering more direct.

I would say the VAG 312mm setup is a must. Dont regret this mod at all. Unlike others.

My recommendation for the Eibachs was more to reduce the pitch and dive under acceleration and braking that the Fabia is plagued with due to the heavy diesel lump :D The ARB will sort out the body roll :D

But not the dive you get with 312's :)

All in all the eibach stuff does make a difference. Just not big enough for me :) Now some KW v3 might

One thing I have noticed now back to stock is it wheelspins alot easier.

I've been driving mine today without the Eibach's, ARB and 312's - It takes some getting used to.

brakes = 312mm TT brakes.

suspension = EIbach setup or coilovers.

Handling = Jabba rear ARB. Essential!

Exhaust = catback milltek or "other" ;)

Engine = PD160 air intake pipe, green cotton filter

Aside from that there's the usual non "essential" but very nice things like remap, intercooler, big turbo, big wheels, performance tyres, tarty head unit/audio, leather interior. The list is very extensive. ;)

Thanks for the responses, I did notice the body roll on the test drive (of other Fabia's) so this is something I'd like to sort out, will the ARB on its own do this? I would like the gap between the arches and wheels to be closed up also! So some form of lowering will need to be done! I've not had the chance to really drive one fast so not noticed the pitching/diving so much!

Thanks

Tom

The rear ARB really does sort out pretty much all the body roll problems with the standard setup. It's the only chassis mod I've had done and it really holds on now on fast bends.

Is this really everyone's opinion? I've notice a hell of a lot more grip and 'surefootedness'. But I still think it rolls around like a barge, something I'm hoping will be fixed with the new springs/dampers - something to help keep it flatter when you're throwing it around?

Best mod by far, but I'm not sure I agree with it reducing body-roll.

Front strut brace is also an aid, but really as good as the Jabba ARB is, a complete suspension change is really a very good move. :)

Body roll on mine's definately reduced but it's no where near the same as you'd get from a set of springs and dampers but then you wouldn't expect it to be.

There's a roundabout at the end of the road by work that is a testament to that...

...funnily enough it's also used by the Northampton Safety Camera vans as they're a couple of units away lmao
