Driver Power 2006

Featured Replies

Alot of people not just on here ut generally don't buy BMW as they don't want to be stereotyped as been a t0553r, the Skoda badge thing has not got anything to do with stereotypes it has got to do with the reputation of being a very bad car.

Both are ill-informed prejudices...so they're much the same thing. People won't drive a Skoda because they think people will perceive them as cheapskates who can't afford a decent car. Just as they won't drive a BMW for fear of being perceived as a ******.

This thread was about the Skoda models being high up in this survey not BMW's or stereotyping.

Yes, but as has already been said, this is a forum for discussion - it doesn't have to strictly adhere to the same content as the original post. Besides which the whole BMW/stereotyping issue is borne from a comment on the originally posted website, which is what this thread is about...

But how can people driving BMW's like T0553r5 be ill informed??...I see it with my own eyes everyday same as alot of other people. . Or are the drivers of the BMW's bluffing me into thinking they drive like idiots? Only driving like idiots when they see someone watching them?

come on we all have seen it.....it's not ill informed.

However all skoda drivers being tight?..... when they cost pretty much the same as an average car????DOH!

I see more Mondeo drivers (no offense Scooby) driving like to55ers than I do BMW drivers. Infact I hardly ever see BMW drivers driving like idiots  bar an M3 last month that wanted to prove a point.

Maybe it's just people around your area

I think most of the time its the people that drive BMW as a statement rather than cos they are "the ultimate driving machine" have the stereotype atatched to them.

Sorry it isn't just me who thinks that, it's definitly a stereotype alot of people have about BMW drivers

It is usually the driver not the car. It does make me laugh though about badge snobbery, I still think that Skoda's are excellent value for money.

They have almost the same running gear as most VW's and Audi's of the same size but cost less.

At the end of the day we all pick cars for a reason right or wrong and we can all give what seem like very valid reasons.

Personally my Rs has done 124k and feels as good as it did when I had it at 33k. I'd say that's a good thing. For those that modify them, you're driving a bargain.

The car still puts a smile on my face, which is important to me...on the other hand my wife thinks that it is loud and too fast. Different person, different opnion.

As they say in summary "Opinions are like arxxxxxes, everyone's got one and they often stink":D

But how can people driving BMW's like T0553r5 be ill informed??

No...it's an ill-informed prejudice that all BMWs are driven like ******* - in reality, there are plenty of non-******* who drive BMWs, and there are plenty of ******* in other marques.

However all skoda drivers being tight?..... when they cost pretty much the same as an average car????DOH!

Like I said...an ill-informed prejudice...
