Octy pricing.

Featured Replies

Hope you people can help me as i am after some advice.

Due to personal circumstances it looks like i may have to sell my Octavia VRS. The problem arises when i come to sell my car as i am struggling to find a price for the car due to it being so new. The only similar cars i can find are at dealers which will obviously be more expensive. Was wondering if anyone knows what the market is like for used octys and if anyone could give me a rough idea of price. The cars details are....

Black Octy VRS

5500 miles

Obviuosly mint condition

August 2003

Any info would be of use. By the way, i know i will lose a lot of money on the car with it being so new.

Cheers.

Phil

the rs is holding its value really well so I think you should aim resonably high. After all yours has average mileage and is not that old, 14k ish should be achievable I think.

Anyone else?

I dunno about

Phil,

Bad luck mate I hope it aint too serious. Anyway, if you must sell I'd have a chat with the dealer you bought it from first to see whether you can broker a buy back deal. I've been speaking to a couple of dealers up my neck of the woods and the word on the Skoda street is that Black vRS's are selling like hot cakes at the moment and dealers can't get enough of them. Failing that bang it in the trader or an ad on here.

Regarding price if you've got a standard spec vRS then around

Thanks for the replys. To be honest, the types of figures being mentioned are quite promising. It's good to hear that they are desirable cars. As far as selling it back to the dealer, has anybody heard of this before. Would he only pay bottom dollar? The reason that i wonder this is because the car is so new all the dealer would need to do is fully clean it and stick on his profit. Seems to convient though. Any thoughts?

Phil,

If a dealer knows that he can shift a car and make a profit and not spend much money in the process then it's attractive to them. For arguments sake let's assume you'd be happy with

Turners have a 2003 52 plate car on the forecourt in black with 10k miles for 13 grand

yours is slightly newer with less miles..so in theor yours is worth more

I must admit I was having a sniff around this one this morning (also the WRC version). Wasn't in brilliant condition despite the low miles....

To be honest. I would let it go for around

judging by the price i paid for my first RS which was of similar vintage and miles when i bought it for 13000 ( up at 13500 ), i would say that they would offer you about 12500.

hope it's more mind and also hope you don't have to sell it. :)

all the best.

Phil,

Ring a few dealers around your neck of the woods to test the water. I was in Sedgefield Motors this afternoon (NE England) I know it's not local but they were telling me they source vehicles from all over the UK so might be worth a call at least. I suppose it depends how keen you are to get rid.

TBH if I was you I'd bang it in the trader for
