Sunroof or aircon???

Recommended Posts

I am currently deciding to purchase a TDI Octavia estate. It is pre registered with 0 miles but has a sunroof but no air con. It was registered in June this year. Is it an older model or can someone help me on the subject. Dealer says that is the way it came. Any help appreciated.:)

I wouldn't touch one without aircon.

Not only will you miss it on hot days ' date=' it will badly affect resale[/quote']

Spot on.

I guess the dealer is really keen to shift it, almost at any price, which just reinforces the good Dr's comments.

Any chance of a retro fit for the air con?

As long as the savings on the car can easily offset the cost of the job.

Sunroofs are OK at 60 but no good in the sweltering heat in a traffic jam.

Early Classics Did not feature Air Con' date='

I had a quote from a company called MAC that said £1200+vat to retrofit

When you consider that it was a £500 factory option and you will get some of that back when It comes to selling time, I'd say it's worth it.

Thye told me down the phone that when finished it looks like a total factory job, with all the correct switchgear, e.t.c

Only difference is that it wont have it printed in the service book

Also I beleive they will even do climate control:thumbup:

I will be investing in it next summer

yep, definitely wouldn't buy anything other than a real budget car without aircon: guess this is a side effect of global warming! sunroof gives you a bit of air-in-the-hair comfort a few times a year, aircon's great all year round...

Had both on Octy I and II and the sunroof gets used at every opportunity when driving at lowish speeds.

It lets fresh air in with much less turbulence than opening the windows , not to mention the sunlight.

I liked it enough to pay the extra to have one since they aren't standard now
