Popped over to Wheelbase this morning to have a look at the 2 Alloys I'm really interested in. THe RS4 new style, and the ACE 205HB's. Both on 18s. Had the RS4 positioned on the front, the ACE on the back.

Was there with a mate and we could not decide which was the best, because to be honest, I like them both equally.

The RS4 will give a more OEM Factory style, but the ACE's will give that aftermarket, more unique styling. THe ACE's are a bit lighter than the RS4's but a bit more expensive.

Anyway, I've attaced pics of them on some stand placed at the side of the car. (Taken with camera phone)

I'm in a dilemma, so help me out.

RS4 Style...

With the blue of your car RS4's for sure.

RS4 all the way..........

RS4's agreed.

Yeah....RSJ's!!!!

I'd say neither. more unsprung weight than the stock wheel, slower accel and more expensive tires-whats the point apart from looks?

its your car though, so good luck with whatever you do:thumbup:

You'll probably find the price between 17" tyres and 18" has hardly any difference. Jumping to 19" adds a fair bit to the tyre price, that why Im going for 18s.

You know that for sure?

RS4's. The others would suit a smaller car like a Fabia, but not an executive car like the Superb. What you paying BTW? Got myself 19" for £800 with tyres (RS8's)

Good prices. You'll need to get it lowered once the alloys go on. Mine looked like it was on stilts when the 19's went on. Got coilovers fitted and now it looks "ard as nails"

Got some Eibach springs priced up from JBS. That'll give me a drop of about 30mm.

I dont want to lower too much further since I drag a holiday shed. :D

TBH, I'll be selling my current 17s as soon as these go on, and they'll be funding a custom exhaust first. Springs will come next.

Fair enough. Only got

I love the new RS4 style wheels so i'd probably go for them,i just hope that they don't get too common like the old RS4,RS6 and S8 alloys

Got the coilovers from Ebay. They are V-Maxx and are a german make. The height is adjustable from about 10 mm below standard down to scraping the tyre. I have got mine as high as possible on the back and about half way down on the front.

Was it an Auction, or ebay shop? If its an ebay shop, I may drop them a mail. I could get some fitted quite cheap as my dad knows a mechanic.

It was an auction, but the seller had multiple items for different cars. I have just looked and can't see any at the moment. His ebay user id is for_u_store so you could try and contact him.

Just looked at the particular seller does not have anything at the moment.

The Vote so far is swinging towards the RS4's but.......

I do like those Ace 205s. They really are a very nice alloy, and to see them in the tin was very impressive. (Photo doe not do them justice). I do like the new RS4s but I think they will become common at some point. The ACEs are lighter, more expensive and it will acheive a more after market look, than an OEM look.

The vote is still open for another week, i reckon, but thanks all for your comments so far.

I voted for the RS4's. The ACE ones look like they are trying a bit too hard, too blinging for my tastes, the RS4's look classy, the ACE look trashy.

IMHO though.
