Stark Raving Bonkers!! ;)

Featured Replies

Well what can i say...........had the octy vRS 2 and half months and been very impressed with it after trading in my Integra type R.Good compromise in comfort and style.Performance wasn`t quite as nuts as the teg.....but i knew it wouldnt be when i got it.

In some instances it feels quicker than the Teg,for instance 70 to 90 in 5th, in fact frankly most in gear times feel a bit quicker, but all out 0-60 and possibly 0-100 is just a bit behind.BUT thats not what this post is all about ;)no.........This is about the APR stage 2 chip.

What can i say.........not had it fitted yet....but ive had the 6 hours demo program uploaded(225ish bhp) from awesome gti.

AND ITS AS DAFT AS A BOX OF ******S!!!!!   :drive:

Cant believe how much its changed the car in all gears at all times.....5th gear 70 to 90 just pulls so creamy smooth now ,that i keep thinking im in 4th or even 3 rd at times! :).Power is as near to instantanous as you could hope for in a turbo car and theres more of a shove at lower revs which becomes more insistant as the revs rise and around 4500 there seems to be another little shove in the back :).Very Very Very impressed and needless to say......ill be booking it in soon as poss ;).

Oooooooh thats a sneaky little way of getting you to chip your car that 6 hour demo .......like giving a junky his first fix for free....THEY KNOW YOULL BE BACK :goodvibes :guapo: :bowdown1:

Yours(with about an hour left in demo mode :).....just enough for the journey to work tomorrow... )

Say hi to Jim ; )

APR II does work very well, but quite reliant on the old optimax, as any map thats optimsed for running optimax could be. From past experince I would suggest if you can run to it/twist Jim's arm into getting the 95 pgm and Optimax. Main reason is if your out and about optimax can be a bit rare, so you can happily fill up on 95 for a long motorway drive then 98 on thursday ready for the weekend ;)

Thats IMHO of course. Ran a 4x4 estate with 95/98,TBA, VM and FCE, was great, but never used the last 3 features. But frequently swapped betweem 95 and 98, mainly as I say using 95 for commuting.

/EDIT: Of course the 180 stock is close enough to the 95 (180-207-227) so might not actually be worth it...4x4 was 150-207-227.

I know what your saying colin but im used to running optimax from when i owned the integra type R(had that 2 and half years).I ran that from the moment i got the teg and was only caught short just once......but was able to just stick a fiver of super in which was enough to get me near home, where i have 4 optimax garages in a 7 mile radius ;).

Anywho im not just having the 98 ron map installed,im also gonna retain the original map so that i have 2 modes just incase. My dealer is happy for the chipping to happen as long as there is a default original mode installed(theyve given me the nudge nudge wink wink that they will have selective amnesia as long as it can run stock ;) ).

P.s Tavia rs..........after a few months i can see some more ice forming on that slope you mentioned earlier :driverall :revs: :blinker:

If your names not down, you're not coming in!! By order of..

D' management!!

i've had the APR on both my RS's and i love it. *think* my red RS was the first APR'ed in the country.

have been running on 95 for the past couple of tanks and i'm *really* noticing a big, big difference in pickup esp. around 80 in 5th. can't wait to get this 95 crap out of the car.

on a related note, tried a couple of tanks of bp ultimate on the 95 mode and was very impressed. i would say very little difference on the butt dyno between that and optimax on 98mode.

V-Tune on its way also.

Then its CAI, exhaust, fmic, new turbo etc............

Enjoy

Phil.
