Clutch Drag

Featured Replies

Hello All,

Anyone know if I can adjust the hydraulic clutch in my Octavia (1999 GLX model). When I bought it, they said they replaced the master and slave cylinders as well as the clutch itself. I have problems engaging it into first and sometimes reverse gear. It seems to bite as soon as I release the pedal. ...

Sounds like it needs bleeding....?

Dealer told me non adjustable item, so i would guess not.

Yes, dealer told me the same thing. Seemed odd, given that its a hydraulic clutch. Mine has become quite "hard " to press and is a pain in stop-start traffic. Car is otherwise standard and done 18k kms. Any way to "soften" it?

There is no adjustment on them that I am aware of. I have replaced my slave cylinder (dealer did the master previously). When the master was first done, the clutch became really light (horrible!), but then got harder again (as I prefer - ooeerrr!)
