Wow! thats what i call a proper diesel engine for a Felicia! or a Caddy. How much did the project cost you minus the extra pump and intercooler. I have the smokey, lack luster, SDI.

Brian Cambs.

I got hold of a used turbo with manifold etc from a Golf 3 TD from a scrapyard for about £60 and a used TD pump for £110 so it hasn´t been that expensive yet =)

Also took the nozzels from a Golf GTD with 155 bar opening pressure instead of the original 130 bar.

But I´m about to order a uprated clutch from a company in the UK and they want £280 with shipping, but atleast I can up the boost and fuel much more without it slipping all the time.

And I changed the 9mm rotor in that pump for a 12mm (50% more fuel to the nozzles)

and the rotor cost me £180, but I can asure you it moves quickly. I have a boost pressure around 1.3 bar right now. But will crank it up more after the clutch is installed.

Also installed a EGT gauge and a full flow exhaust.

It´s a fun and rather cheap thing to play with. I drive a big chevy truck during the summers, but use the Caddy as a beater/wintercar.

I wonder how much it would cost to drop in a 1.9 AAZ TD “standard!” engine 90BHP into a diesel Felicia. All costs included from buying the engine to getting it fitted and car on the road! Would love to do this as a future project! Will have to save up for it.

Well, as long as you get hold of an engine complete with manifolds, turbo and injection pump you don

apparently the way to do it is to turbo the stock block using vw/seat inlet manifold form mid 90's td model, need to move turbo to behind engine location ( bonnet clearance) also need to fit fuel pump with adjuster on top.

sorry not the most technical response, but I'm still desiphering it myself & trying to identify engine no's etc.

cheers Herb.

1.9 Diesel AEF engine converted with a Golf 1.6 GTD KKK24 turbo (same size as the Audi S2 etc), 12 mm pump rotor head + other mods done to the injection pump. BMW 525 tds race injectors, CG motorsports 3 puck clutch, water/alcohol injection system, 2.5 inch open exhaust etc. Puts out roughly 200 hp on the flywheel right now at 2.4 BARs max boost.

Just thought I would wake up this thread again with some new pics and info :)

This is what my setup looks like right now, first 2 pics without the "new" intake tubing and water/alcohol injection:
