Bird ****

Featured Replies

Its like glue to remove:eek:

damaged the paint work in the process:mad:

brought it to get sorted with some compound an lots of buffing.

Just a warning boys and girls if youre ever faced with the same,be careful on how you remove it.

How long was it on and what did you remove it with ?

I had to reove what I thought was bird 5h1t during the week, but on closer inspection it was like tree sap. I eventually got it off with some carburettor degreaser, but it took a while. I got it all off, but it has left an imprint in the paintwork where the stain was.

Put some kitchen roll on the **** and pour hot water on it. Leave to soak while you have a cuppa, then it should just wipe off. If it has left a mark, try a clay bar and a polish / wax. Last resort, PC and a full detail.

The trick is to get the stuff off as soon as it appears. It etches into the laquer otherwise.

Don't use a brillo pad like my ex gf's mum did on her merc!

re tree sap , i thought just hot water would get it off

I used to have a black mk4 astra that was always parked under a tree and was always covered in tree sap, it just comes off when you was it..... rain will probably get it off....

It looked like glue, so it may not have been tree sap. If it was bird dung, then I shudder to think what that bird ate.

It wouldn't budge with a power washer, but the de-greaser did the trick.

You've not got as viscious trees as me I think. It's a chore to even get it off with a claybar on my brothers car (mine sleeps in the garage  )
