Searched for this and can't find any info.

I noticed the other day that my rear wiper blade is falling apart, so thought quick trip to Halfords. Get there and Octavia rear wiper isn't listed in there little book, and I didn't realise the Bosch book was there.

Anyway went home and had a search on here and the rest of the internet and it seemed to say that a Bosch 13in blade would fit. Then went out and measured the blade on mine and it is 16in.

Now really confused?? I have bought a Bosch 16in from Halford but having second thoughts now. Any suggestions?

it's a 16" and the halfords book is wrong.

However go get it from a dealer as the rear blade is curved (i think) and the straight ones from halfords don't wipe correctly leaving a load of water all over the screen.

I'll be working near a dealer on Wednesday so I think I'll pop in on my way home and see if they have one in stock.

I unwitting fitted a bosch 13" one from halfords on mine but it works fine albeit with a slightly smaller wipe pattern but id say the 16" bosch one you already have would be fine rather than being ripped off by the dealer.

Nope dealer is no more than halfrauds and I made the mistake of fitting a 16" generic one. The blade is not curved and doesn't wipe the screen cleanly.

Also for standard front blade pack my dealer was a couple of quid cheaper than halfords et al.

Funny this should come up as I also mistakenly fitted the 13" from halfords - its still on there. I knew it didnt look right! It wipes fine but looks way too small.

I'll get a new one from the dealers when passing.

Edit: Is there a 'nicer' wiper arm available for the MK1 Octavia? I'm sure I saw one the other day that had one with a plastic cover...looked much neater

I've seen that as well, I think it was a model year change but not sure. The wiper arm on mine looks a bit old fashioned, especially compared to SWMBO's fabia, which has the nice plastic cover.

Going back to my original query I think I'm going to go to the dealers and see what price a rear wiper is. The Bosch one is still untouched in the box, so Halfords should take it back.

It's a 16"

Get it from your dealer, it is cheaper than Halfords and it actually works - I made the same mistake (yes, their book is wrong).

As for the cover on the arm, my 04 model has one
