2006 (new) Octavia vRS Air Filter

Featured Replies

Hi!

I'm new to the site, and have following question:

Can anyone advise on access to, and removal of, the air filter, as my local Skoda dealer didn't have a clue? I've just bought a K&N panel filter (no induction kit available yet) and would like to swap with standard filter.

Have no idea whether K&N is 'approved' by Skoda uk ie for warranty purposes, although Revo remap (with select switch) is already ouside this. Here's hoping!

There are around 3-4 different induction kits available for the new octy vRS (Neuspeed / Evolution / Carbonio / Forge - Try google looking for Mk5 Golf induction kits, Awesome GTi do the neuspeed and carbonio) , to remove the filter you have to remove the engine cover as the filter is integral to this. Once the engine cover is removed, flip it over and you will see a series of screws underneath, undo those, prize it apart and you will see the filter.

if / when you go to remove the engine cover you will need to remove the intake from the engine cover and I would disconnect the plug going to the MAF to be on the safe side. The engine cover requires a fairly hefty pull to get it off, and keep an eye out for the mounting grommets as they tend to come away with the cover.

hope this helps

PS, Welcome

PS PS the thread may get moved to the "New Octavia" section as it's a bit more than a "Hello" :)
