Just wondering.... Does anybody compete in a motorsport on here?

I used to be a rally co-driver and did a few road rallys... anyone else compete in motorsport?

Jim

I did a season or two as a co-driver in the National rally championship in Ireland a few years back.

I have hung up my fire retardant booties for good now though, quite happy to spectate instead.

Yep, race a 205GTi with my frined in hill & flat sprints. Great fun, I think i even managed to finish second to last in my class on Sunday instead of last:)

nice one... not won any events yet then? u just compete locally?

Not even close.

The car is kept in midlands as my mate has a garage to keep it in (keeps insurance down). Though I did race at Harewood the other week, great course, very technical.

Yes, rallies (tarmac and stage), hillclimbs, sprints and a dabble with circuit stuff.

U a Co-driver or driver TaviaVRS?

Both :D Int B

used to do a few road rallies many moons ago. Both driving a mk1 Escort Mexico and navigating for mate in his RS 2000.

Great fun cars but would get blown away by todays luke warm hatches!!

anyway gave up for two reasons - couldn't afoard to wrap the car so took few chances and got nowhere fast!!

and needed cash to get married - Doh!!!!!

Saw the Mex again a few month later - as flat as a pancake on the back of a transporter!! Met the guy I sold it too about 10 years on at my brothers wedding - he was goung out with the bridesmaid - my new sister-in-laws sister - its a small small world.

So no more rally car but still follow the sport - oh and still married 25 yrs on!

I do co driving on stage rallies and road rallies. Also compete in sprints, hill climbs and production car trials.

I took up rallying to avoid the wife:rofl:

used to do sprints and hillclimbs in 1999 and 2000 , house purchase forced a curtailment though, oh yeah , and like a fool i bought a house without a garage so in the end had to sell my car because the bloke who owned the garage where it was stored wanted his space back , it was only a mini for Christ sakes LOL
