Piddly wheelbrace!

Featured Replies

Swapped the driver's side front wheel with the spare yesterday, as the spare was unused and the other one VERY used. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had ever managed to change a wheel with just the standard wheelbrace? I'm so glad I've got a proper extendable one in my tool bag, else I think I'd still be trying to get wheel bolts off now! What's more, I don't think I'd even be happy tightening up afterwards with that little thing...

Changed wheels on octy/golf/fabia/A4 & passat using the identicle standard one no trouble at all!

The wheel bolts shouldnt be that tight.

Equally, the wheel brace is plenty long enough to tighten them to the required torque.

Nuh mate, just make sure the "peeps" at the tyre place don't wang-em up to tight with their air guns!

Torque settings are in the Handbook I believe.

Yup standard wheelbrace for me works great.

It makes me laugh when seeing Quick Fit numptys air gunning up the wheels to god knows what... Then they go put a torque wrench on to check if there on tight.
