A few Fabia RS questions

Featured Replies

I've had mine nearly a week now - very impressed so far!

- I got 330 miles out of the first tank before the fuel light came on - will this improve noticably as the engine loosens up. The mpg seems to average 43-45...........

- the windscreen wipers make an annoying "shussing" noise against the glass - anyone else had this

- the tyres are crap - any alternative recommendations

1 - Depends how you drive it ;)

2 - Nope not noticed that

3 - Tyres are great in the warm/dry! not great in the cold/wet. Not replaced them yet, but I run Yoko's on the '2' so probly go with them when I do need to change them

Yep mine do that, im looking at maybe getting some VAG 'Aero' wipers like the ones fitted to 2003> MY Golfs. But for now im changing the rubbers and re aligning them when I get around to it.

Mine did, but i put it down to the wax coating on the window... dont really notice it now.

Toyo Proxes?.. this is what i will probably go for next.. but these michelin tyres are doing well, i had wasted a pair of contis on my last car by 10k, and that was only a 1.2!

Hi,

Currently by Fab vRS is at 3.5k, had it for three and a bit months.

I don't notice any of the wiper noises, maybe will be less noticeable as you use them more. Has got a lot better with fuel consumption. Using Ultimate diesel improves this, but it costs more - 81.9p/l.

Have upgraded the front light bulbs to PIA Xenon discharge bulbs, better visibility (blue-white light). Silver indicator bulbs - gets rid of that orange bulb reflection.

Anyway hope you enjoy yours.

:)

Rich.

mines a driving school car also, it's going really well. changed my bulbs for the osram silverstar on the dipped and phillips rallye on high beam they make a big difference. i also got about 350 miles per tank until i found out about the reserve. when filling up fill until it's full then push against the little nodule thingy on the right hand side of the filler neck and you'll get up to 50 litres in. and 500 miles per tank. mine does about 45 mpg as well. :crown:
