Washed the car on Friday Afternoon because it ws so dirty I was struggling to see out of the windscreen and I had used a whole washer bottle up rather too quickly. I drove to work that evening removing most of the water from the wash. However on return to the car I found that it along with all the others in the car park was frosty. No problem I thought, and I scraped it off declining the de-icer beiing passed around. However not only was it frosty outside but it was frosty inside which meant I had to scrape the frost on the inside too before I could go! I have noticed however that the car take ages to de-mist or remove the condensation that forms on the car when parked.

So whats the best way to do remove it if you don't have climate? Because I hate wiping it with a chamois, it just streakes the screen and every mark shows up in the low sun we get at rush hour! Getting annoyed sitting the car park for 5-10 minutes before starting to go home!

Do you use a jet wash when you clean the car?

Occasionally I will crack out the Karcher, but the last few times I washed it have been a quick once over with the hose and a sponge

I just wondered because the inside of my car never mists up but it did last weekend when I used the new Karcher for the first time.

I'm guessing that the ice this time was due to you having just washed it and there was enough moisture to cause a problem however you shouldn't be getting moisture in the first place. When you're cleaning the bodywork just use a normal running hose without a gun or spray. Other than that check the footwells and boot for leaks. If you've got removable mats take them out and dry them indoors.

As for the chamois, I've got this brilliant microfibre cloth made by Contico that is excellent on glass and is much better than a chamois even for 'leathering' the car after it's been washed. If you're using one of those chamois pads they are rubbish mainly because you can't clean them properly.

So whats the best way to do remove it if you don't have climate?

Unfortunately the aircon does not operate below 6 degrees - just blows "normal" air at the screen. A pain at this time of year.

I also find my Octy can suffer from the same problem of condensation taking ages to clear on the screen. It's even worst if the glass is wet - after washing or rain. Regular cleaning of the inside of the screen with a decent glass clearner helps.
