Just found out a local scrapper has two Fabias in stock at the moment. Going for the first look tomorrow. Oddly enough, one of them is left hand drive :confused: but I assume it will be the same on most aspects. (LHD conversion? )

If anyone needs any "basic" fabia spares, give me a shout and I'll look out. I'm after a pair of wheel arch liners. and an engine tray, maybe a glove box

I have something missing from the boot? I beleive I should have a towing eye? and a plastic thingy it is stowed in, not really sure but I know I do not have a towing eye for the front bit

sounds like Jason is going to be busy removing bits of dash trim

The only dash tray thing I found is the standard quite large spacious tray that comes as standard under the tape player in the comfort/classic trims. I'll just describe the cars a bit below. In brief.

Car 1

Polish LHD 1.4 16v. Engine still in it, as is dash. Airbags were OK but steering wheel one was gone. Centre trim all looked intact. Lower front end totally knackered. Seats manky. Generally, not a lot to get off. Some good bodywork

Car 2

English RHD 1.4 MPI, red. Classic trim black seats in quite good nick (I removed back ones) Dash gone, but some bits left over (airbags blown anyway) Engine gone as is all front end, just bits. Trim looked OK. Right side was OK. Left side was totalled. Timber wedged in between front door and wing, so think the car ricocheted off a tree. :( New toolkit, looked totally unused.

The LHD car is portugese not polish.

Thats nothing compared to the position of the bottom of the suspension turrets. Both wheels were pushed forward well into the front bumper area. :eek:

Curious now you mention the beads and stuff....

Also, I assumed the "P" was for Poland. Guess thats because so many of them have been coming over to the UK in the past year or so.

Think Poland is PL judging by the few hundred or so that are around here

Unfortunately, they've scrapped the UK car now and only have the left hand drive one in stock. I can check it's passenger side (right side) to see if it has the clips? I can vaguely remember them from my own car too. (and luckily it has both right doors - both left hand ones are gone)

Would be great if you could have a look please. I'm guessing that the whole mechanism ie right and left sides of the car are mirrored (I need left) and side specific but that the clips are the same and the change in angle and side is taken up in the metal glass holders that fit into the clips.

Just a headsup to everyone, I asked Jason to get me the towing eye and I received it the very next day and an excellent agreed price

You're welcome anyway. That towing eye was actually my own spare one. Think it must have been the one from my first fabia.

If your still anywhere near these little fellas.... to fit your bonnet i'm going to need bolts as i drilled out the originals if its possible to grab them it would be gr8... if not will get stu onto the case with p/ns!! Assume airbags have gone??

Umm, can you please check if they have the "Motor" for the passenger door window(right side )?? It's very small in size so shipping is not goin to be that bad..This motor also controls the door mirror, my Fabia is 02 Elegance model
