Another more tempting project would be the phatbox.

Stu, do you know if ID3 tags are passed on the ipod interface or not?

There seems to be some ambiguity here.

Yes I understand what you are saying about the phatbox.

Our friend lives in ireland, they have funny specs sometimes.

Yea NO CD Changer as standard but theres a few things we get that UK spec cars don't...eg rear electric windows :)

Cheers for the info on the Ipod Interface Kit, will you have all the controls on the stereo. That would be good if it turned it on/off, changed tracks etc etc. Only thing is that if it doesn't show the Track names on the headunit its not much better than having the Jumbo box style connection.

I spoke to dealer today and he mentioned someone that had gone this route...he said about the VW logo coming up on it.

The Cable which goes to the Jumbo box in the current Mk2's would be good too...and cheap compared to the Ipod Interface Kit. Any ideas if its a matter of just plugging the Jack Plug cable straight to back of stereo ? Will the stereo work with it, I recall Johnnyc mentioning before about issues with it.

I was going to go just the Transmitter route but the cover to protect the Ipod will need to be removed before using that, well the Griffin one does.
