VW Passat 1.9 TDI

Featured Replies

Friend has a Volkswagen Passat Saloon on a V plate I think it is the 1.9 S TDI (90ps) 4d.

Now I need a cheap but reliable run about to get me to work for the next 6 months. He is looking at around

I would have thought so.

Give me a shout if you want the belt doing etc :)

Cool. May call you at some point..

and, while you're clearly not going to, the B5 versions have a very big modding scene.....not that i'd know much about that.....

But as Lummox and yourself have both commented, if the motor is sound, it'll run and run......

I used to have a B5 Passat. A word of warning, if there's any noise coming from the front suspension (rattling or clunking), either get it fixed before buying it or walk away. B5's have nightmare control arm issues (just go on passatworld.com).

Other than that they're good cars, my dad has mine now! They handle very well for their size. :)

Oh, and a nicely modified B5 is IMO one of the best looking cars out there. :)

Was just going to use it to get to work for 6 momths and then sell on hopefully for the price I paid and all the work I will do on it. Didn't want to mod it as I am buying a new car after it goes for something a little smaller that can be used to teach people to drive.
