has anyone driven both,Im interested in getting one as my next company car and I just wanted to find out if the petrol feels that much quicker than the diesel.I have a mk1 vrs octy at the moment ,is the new vrs that much quicker?

Check out the new Octavia section - there's been a couple of threads comparing the two and the conclusions seem to be you're better off with the petrol as it's faster, only slightly more economical and more tunable. If you want a diesel, the 140PD Elegance with sport pack seems the most sensible option
