Well after four events we've finally broken something on the mini - we've blown the diff (see photo below).

Took us a night to get the engine out which wasn't bad but we need it all back and running for a club event on Monday night. We have lifted the car up off the front subframe so we have plenty of room to do the work.

We're putting a 1 litre engine in for now as we need to upgrade the diff on the 1275 engine we've removed, and the head is away being flowed for the 1340 engine.

good work keepin the mini on the road for mor than 10mins though- got a few mates wi them-great, when they're going:thumbup:

that's a bit of bad luck you've had there.. but unfortunately it does happen when you are racing.....

by the way where are you getting the head ported??

were you just running a standard diff ? or LSD ? i ran a cross pin diff without any problems and i believe its still going now nearly 5 years since i sold it , with probably twice the power (60wBHP) that i had

One of the guys from the motor club I belong to is doing it for us. It's nearly done but it isn't going to be finished for Monday.

We just had the standard transmission on the 1275 engine.

To be honest I thought it would have gone earlier and found it a bit surprising that it failed on a sprint. Mind you the engine was running to well over 8000rpm.

The 1340 has a 4 pin diff on it and a fully sorted box so that should be hell of a lot stronger.

Will it go quite well when you are done with it?

Like a <7 second 0 - 60??
