Very nice figures. And you're car looks fantastic too. Skoda vRS6 Eh?

Eddy;

Con-grats mate, top stuff

It would be very good reading if you would list the mods that have been done. Prices may raise a few eyebrows, but what the hell, sling then in to. ;)

I remember reading some of your progress, but to condense it all in one file would be beneficial.

Reading this post may suggest that it's all done with the "Big Turbo" which we all know it just ain't.

You can get what I've achieved with just the conversion. Drive in - drive out price for a standard car is

That's less than I expected.

For the performance and looks of your car I think that's pretty damn good.

However I would still recommend suspension and brake upgrades are done in addition.

Whys that Eddy? I would have thought the standard stilt suspension and 288mm brakes were more than up to the job, lol. :D

Thanks, that's exactly how I feel about. It also feels like a much newer car than it is thanks to the engine basically being new, the suspension has just been replaced and of the course the seats and steering wheel from a newer high spec car do wonders, I also have a fresh set of porsche brakes being fitted very shortly. Something for the future which when/if I do it that I think will give that new car feeling once again is a complete change of the interior plastics including dash board, centre console and door cards.

 You got off lightly, If I add in the bits Ive broken, no in fact I wont, I would just cry. Still it proves that with a clear plan & good research you can end up with the car you want for far less than buying an equivalent performance car straight out. You had best get it on a few of the Runs through Europe, its just soooooooooo much fun beating the so called quick guys :) :) :)

There's the odd thing on the way that I've bought than had to replace due to the conversion but I've usually managed to get some of the cash back by selling it on so not too bad, I also haven't had any major breakages yet which I is good.

Before going ahead with the conversion I thought very hard of what car I could get instead with the money and really couldn't think of anything I would rather have for the money I was spending or even double. I don't really like the showy nature of many performance cars and love the fact that people have the attitude of 'but it's a skoda', when I reply 'that's the best thing about it' they just look at me blankly. One car I really like styling and sound wise, more so than Porsches, Aston's, Lambo's etc.. is the BMW M3. I really love the styling the colour combination of grey exterior and red leather would be the only choice for me, however I'm almost certain that I would now be dissapointed with the performance and it's outside of my budget anyway for both purchase and maintainence costs.

How has the conversion affected your insurance premium? Mst be near double that of a standard 4x4 ?

I came from an Impreza that was a money pit, sold it whilst I could & the only real thing I wanted again was a 4x4 & top of the wish list was an RS4, performance with understated looks. I had run on the previous cannonball with one that had nos & it was phenominal but just way out of my league on purchase cost & running costs. The Skoda appeared at

Only pic I have to hand is one of the finished conversion which I've attached.

EDIT: I've found a couple of old pics of the car too which I've attached, the main difference being it's now fitted with OZ Superlegerra's instead of the Oettinger RE's in the pic.

I've found a pic from the Sheffield showing my current wheels.

love the car! I wish they'd done or did a vRS 4x4.

Car looks sweet. Is that picture on that little business park near the Merc dealer / Sheffield? I recognise it........

I don't know Sheffield that well, it was a retail park just down the road from the meadowhall shopping centre.
