New I.C.E install stopped Central Locking!

Featured Replies

Help!

My New Head Unit install has stopped the Remote central locking working on my 2004 Octavia VRS.:(

I used the Halfords ISO conectors and have had advice re: the "Red & Yellow" wires, but can't get the remote Central locking to work and have to lock the doors with the key.

Can anyone help? Because the red flashing light on the door pin doesn't flash anymore I assume the immobilliser is not working either!@!

Any advise gratefully received.

Cheers

You bought the wrong ISO adapter, there are 2 VW ones, and if you buy the wrong one this happens.

Had the same with my vRS.

Yes, the HU is putting 12 volts into the canbus system and confusing the computer.

how random, never heard of this before and when i bought my stereo i used the standard adapter and it workd a treat :)

I think the problem is some headunits use the pin on the ISO connector that VW intended for its canbus connection for other uses. Eg, Blaupunkt use the pin as a Sub Out.

So do you all agree with Tom vRS that its the wrong ISO?

Could be, if its autoleads, I believe the one you need is.

PC2-69-4

Usually its down to the S contact getting a permanent live from the headunit due to the wiring being wrong nothing to do with CAN BUS.

I have now fitted the ISO from Halfords PC2-69-4

I now have no power to the head unit at all!! Can anyone tell me ...do I need to swap the red and yellow wires back again?

Is there something else I am doing wrong?

I am sure this shouldn't be this hard!

HELP!!

Do you have a multimeter to check the outputs and see if you've blown a fuse?

You don't actually need the autoleads adaptor you can just swap the leads in the plug.

The correct pin outs can be found here - Fabia-vrs.com - Mobile Phone Car kit Integration. Compare that with the install instructions for your new headunit.

HELP!

I now have both halfords ISO's and have tried both with the red and yellow wires in both ways round!

I have also tried contecting without any ISO.

I can either get the remote central locking working OR the headunit but cannot find any combination to get both at the same time!!!

Can anyone help me find a solution to this?

Any advice greatly appreciated

Do you have a miltimeter to check the connection with?

No I don't have a multimeter, but may be able to borrow one, how would i use it to help?

You are simply trying to confirm that you have 12v in the right places at the right time to suit your head unit. Also check for ruptured fues.
