Anyone had dealings with

The Bowling Green Garage (Powick) in Worcester ??

They've got a Silver vRS in at the mo and i'm very tempted but wanted to know if they were any good before driving down there from Walsall.

I've had a look in the dealers reviews bit but there isnt anything for this place.

The nearest dealer to me is Auto Sales in Bilston but they dont have anything in at the mo.

Awed uses that dealer. He hasn't been on line for a couple of weeks so I suggest you e-mail rather than PM him if you want his opinion.

I've e-mailed Awed but he can't get to the site because of the DNS issues. I think his main comment about the dealer has been that they're OK at solving problems if you diagnose them yourself first. Presumably this isn't relevant to you as you'd use a local garage for maintenance.

I bought my Octy from them in June 2002. As a buying experience, they didn't do anything wrong, but they didn't do anything to make it special either.

Fortunatly, I have had no problems whatsoever with the car but when it came to service time, I went to another dealership because

1) BG couldn't book me in for several weeks

2) They are the wrong end of the Worcester Southern Bypass for me (and for you) which means it can take an extra 30 mins to get there in a morning and evening

3) When I bought the car, they told me I would be given a Hyundai as a courtesy car (they have a joint dealership)......

If the car is the right one, then buy it from them - you don't have to take it back there for service/repair.

Come on Nige get it bought

Dont want to be a lonely Skoda on the RSC tour :P ;)

AWED here. Yes, I bought my car from Bowling Green, and regularly use them. *Too* regularly for my tastes, i.e. for sorting out occasional minor problems.

They've always been friendly and straight with me. No complaints.

They didn't do me any favours on the car I bought, but I suspect that's more due to my inherent lack of negotiating skills.

Service team there are always v helpful and Rowan (manager?) is a treasure- nothing is too much bother for him

Thanks for the info peeps, you guys are the greatest (i really do mean that) !

I went back down there yesterday to have another look round the car and get a test drive etc.

Dealt with a guy called John who was very pleasant and helpful, took my dad and bro with me so i didnt feel to lonely on the drive down ;)

Anyway, the car is mint (as i thought) it was registered in June 2003 and has covered 1318 miles, apparently a guy bought it new from another dealer, kept it for a short time then part chopped it in at a Beemer dealers, this place then bought it from there. I've seen all the documents for the car, HPI check etc etc.

I knew after the test drive i wanted it, and after a little umming and arring we came to a deal.

They've given me
