SWIMBO has been offered

Well, as your asking what i'd get. I'd look for a 1999/2000 BMW M5.

Or go the complete opposite route, and go for an Elise.

Maybe an Elise is worth considering as it's similiar to the MR2 in many ways.

You can have my car for £15k.

what about one of those new mini cooper jobbies.... they're quite nice.

R129 SL 500 and some change

why get rid of the one shes got to get another one ?

Having owned an Mr2 roadster on a 51 plate I'd say......

Buy a second hand Honda S2000 in Silverstone grey.

If She likes 'sports cars' she'll love it long time.

Very quick, much more practical than the MR2 (big-ish boot) and extremely reliable, easy to drive around town too.

Owned an S2K for two years so know what I'm on about.

Vauxhall VX220 / Lotus Elise. More kit and rarer on the VX, the badge and image on the Lotus.

I'd agree with that but also add red leather to the equation and make sure it has the glass rear window.

Big clue in your posting name mate.

Not so confusing really. The '2 provides a great driving experience. I tried all sorts before buying mine but it came out top of a very big and sometimes very expensive pile. Excellent communicative chassis, nearly enough power, lovely balance.
