IE7 - 'sharpening' text on screen

Featured Replies

I downloaded IE7 this morning following its release today in final form. During the install I noticed in passing instructions for sharpening the text display on screen but I didn't make a note of them. Now that I am using IE7 I can see that text is noticeably less sharp on my monitor than when using word processing applications so I would like to 'sharpen' it - but how?

Found the answer(s). Ran Microsoft's ClearType tuner first then followed advice in IE help for blurry fonts. Display now much better. :)

Downloaded it this evening, still getting used to it.

Look what I got when I went to download IE7 direct from Microsoft....

Agreed, firefox is much better.

Does it still muck up Outlook or have they fixed that

Turning on cleartype fonts help, but see here for a little program from microsoft for more detailed tuning of cleartype fonts.

typical M$ hater, not even used it yet slag it off in preference of your god-like fire fox

Tried Mozilla. Dont like it at all. IE 7 is very good. Downloaded the beta some time ago and now the full version. No problems with it at all

I think it still breaks OE.

As for firefox 2 - I tried that to replace my normal Firefox and it wouldn't connect to the net
