but the 4*4 that's available on the octavia does allow you to drive quicker when the track...erm...i mean road is damp, doesn't it ;)

I find the biggest benefit is on twisty roads when you are trying to power out of corners. The FWD combined with the ESP just seems to enable the car to predictably sit where you put it & stick the power onto the road

Don't get me wrong, there is every need for 4wd, and lots of enjoyment to be had too, it just seemed a silly question to ask if a vRS should have it, as it breaks traction :)

well what spured me on to ask this is....

i have a re-mapped fab vrs the other morning i was following a roadsweeper up a hill on a busy A road when i finally got a chance i pt my foot down to get round the sweeper and as soon as my turbo come in my traction went out and then the atc reduced the power

it was a brown moment but i survived lol
