Just had a decent call centre experience with Orange!

Can't Adam and Eve it! Took the plunge and rang Orange to sort out my communications. Currently spend

Were on orange broadband Internet phone......Excellent and we up Norff are very nice people.......

I must admit, I was with Freeserve/Wannadoo/Orange for years and had no bother with them at all.

I only changed because of the Cable package, and when I cancelled they rang me up to ask why, and were very polite and understanding, and the lady (perfect English) said she didn't blame me and apologised for bothering me.

I can't fault Orange Customer Services - they have been more than helpful with me.

Plus I have a great deal, loads of texts and free minutes (far more than I would ever use), loads of free landline minutes for my new homephone, effectively a second line with the broadband line phone with loads of free mins on that too, and 2MB broadband all for £35 a month. Unbeatable imho.

On the few occasions I've called Orange I've also been impressed with their customer service skills. They even called me back once, when they promised to!

£35 includes the mobile phone plan as well. I went for a £30 phone plan as it was more than enough for me, and still enabled me to qualify for "free" 2 meg broadband. And still keep the current wireless setup I have now, which is pretty reliable.

same as us Tom BUT.....We only pay
That is

Same here, 200mins, 500 texts, £30 a month on orange contract, £5 insurance per month. Free Broadband + Livebox, currently at 5.6mb, 2nd phone line, now halfed the BT phone bill using it.

Not bad for £35.00.

Also go the Orange SPV M3100 for £100, when i last upgraded and sorted out the free broadband from previous wanadoo at £14.99 a month.

Only had one bad experience with them regarding my broadband. I never get UK call centres when calling orange broadband , but i do when i call orange regarding a mobile query.

Their UK call centre is in Newcastle, or nearby. Well one of them at least.

For broadband support, ringing between 2-6pm gets you the best chance of speaking to someone on the same bit of land as you!

I've had mixed experiences with Orange, and Liveboxes aren't the most reliable or compatible routers in the world, but as long as people are happy...

I was with Orange for years (since they started in fact) and always recieved impecable service from th friendly telephonists.

Unfortunately I had to change networks due to Orange having no coverage where I live, and I can safely say that 3's service is nowhere near as good, and I cant understand a word any of the indians say.

I'm sure I always used to get the Glasgow call centre on Orange?

I just had a good call centre experience with Vodafone - a minor billing problem was sorted out no problem with a Welsh guy by the sound of it. Not in the subcontinent of India for sure.:thumbup:

Contrast that with Effluent - sorry, Elephant :mad: Totally crap customer service from three different blokes in Mumbai or whereever. Poor English, and totally useless and unhelpful :thumbdwn::thumbdwn: No, I'm not racist - I just expect half-decent service.

Elephant have now been told that they can ram their car insurance right up their trunk :finger::finger::finger:

I must say, I'm finding the same. A simple change of vehicle on the policy was hell. Try explaining what a tuning box is too! :thumbdwn: .

The thing is, they are cheapest for me by

It's weird how wide-ranging experiences are with companies who operate their CS operations largely by telephone (most companies now in fact). I wonder why this is? Just luck??! :rubchin:

I've had no problems with Elephant for the two separate years I've used them. I always got a UK call-centre (Wales somewhere I think) and they were helpful and efficient. I had a claim with them also, and that was handled pretty well.

Not my experience, I'm afraid. They were also ranked very low in a recent customer satisfaction survey - think it was in Auto Express.

I went to Chris Knott.
