Mine was 160.6bhp when it was standard!

Fabias handle like poo, fact. My Focus which is down on handling mods, silly small brakes, and about 70bhp less is quicker on my favourite twisties...

270 is achievable with the turbo I want and a couple of other bits like the high lift camshaft in development. As usual though, its money which dictates.... :(

I was put off the 1.8T due to it needing even more work than the diesel conversion. I'm a diesel person through and through. Also, the TDI engine appears absolutely bulletproof up into the high 200s.

Jase, perhaps you should have tried fitting a JCB engine? I hear they can be tuned to be quite nippy.

I really doubt it would even fit, for one thing it's the wrong way round.

probably cos there's nothing particularly "clever" or difficult about making a car go fast in a straight line :confused:

Not everyone rolls fabias. I think most, if not all, have been rolled by Fabia drivers. I've not heard of an Octavia driver rolling a Fabia.

I think Fabias normally only roll when they hit kerbs, sideways, at great speed. The sort of situation a mature Octavia driver would never get themselves into

I am having a re map on the octavia because I like the idea of more oomph.I won't be using the extra go to find country roads to see how the car clings on.

If the chap who did this does wants it for that he might have been better with a standard impreza or something.

My point was just that there is nothing wrong with having some power for overtaking in a safe and very swift manner:) .

nothing wrong with that whatsoever, but as previous Fabia vRS owners seem to be saying - it's not the exactly best handling car in the world in the first place, so 273bhp and god knows how much torque probably wouldn't make for the most drivable car "in the real world"
