F.T.A.O. the person with the 273bhp Fabia

Featured Replies

Looks like its on Eibachs. Possible it has a Jabba ARB too but I cant see how that'd be very drivable.

wheel spin tastic, after the work was completed he bought many many shares in michelin :)

So are we going to know what's been done to it or is it another 'standard' car

Ah, gotcha.

Mine was 160.6bhp when it was standard! ;)

Fabias handle like poo, fact. My Focus which is down on handling mods, silly small brakes, and about 70bhp less is quicker on my favourite twisties...

273bhp though - we need to know more!

Oh, and a 3.0 V6 in the front of a Fabia - bet the handling is so neutral, and not a whiff of understeer.

270 is achievable with the turbo I want and a couple of other bits like the high lift camshaft in development. As usual though, its money which dictates.... :(

I was put off the 1.8T due to it needing even more work than the diesel conversion. I'm a diesel person through and through. Also, the TDI engine appears absolutely bulletproof up into the high 200s.

Jase, perhaps you should have tried fitting a JCB engine? I hear they can be tuned to be quite nippy.

Theres bound to be a donor around your way ;)

I really doubt it would even fit, for one thing it's the wrong way round.

Don't know why everyone is so obsessed with racing round bends. No wonder everyone rolls Fabias

Must be joy on a nice straight road to squirt that thing and shock a tailgater.

Valid point, lol.

probably cos there's nothing particularly "clever" or difficult about making a car go fast in a straight line

Anyone can be a straight line hero with enough power. ;)

I'm talking to you Mr WRX who couldn't get by me on the way to uni last Tuesday morning... Boy did you look annoyed when we finally got to the roundabout with the nice straight after it so you could finally pass me.

Comes from owning an MR2 I guess.

Not everyone rolls fabias. I think most, if not all, have been rolled by Fabia drivers. I've not heard of an Octavia driver rolling a Fabia.

Well I hope it not been mapped to be a big ****off bang of torque at 2Krpm. It so it'll be **** to drive.

I think Fabias normally only roll when they hit kerbs, sideways, at great speed. The sort of situation a mature Octavia driver would never get themselves into

never heard of an Octavia being rolled either.

I am having a re map on the octavia because I like the idea of more oomph.I won't be using the extra go to find country roads to see how the car clings on.

If the chap who did this does wants it for that he might have been better with a standard impreza or something.

My point was just that there is nothing wrong with having some power for overtaking in a safe and very swift manner:) .

They're far too heavy for gravity to lose the battle!

I assume you know the Fabia vRS weighs about the same as an Octy?

Only about 30kg difference. Doesnt the Octy have a wider track?

nothing wrong with that whatsoever, but as previous Fabia vRS owners seem to be saying - it's not the exactly best handling car in the world in the first place, so 273bhp and god knows how much torque probably wouldn't make for the most drivable car "in the real world"

:)

Fabia VRS = 1315kg

Octavia MK1 VRS = 1400kg

Fabia VRS = 1315kg

Octavia MK1 VRS = 1400kg

I have the Octy as 1354kg.

Fabia VRS = 1315kg

Octavia MK1 VRS = 1400kg

So like having 1 up over the fabia.

How much does the PD130 octy weigh?

1445kg
