4x4 owners - how many miles did the clutch last?

Featured Replies

Hi guys, a bit of an 'out of interest' question from me here.

I was just wondering how long the standard OE clutches seem to last on our 4x4's?

If you have replaced your clutch, at what mileage was it and were you running a remap?

Cheers,

Lee

Changed mine at about 50k but I suspect the 280ftlb had something to do with it slipping.

EDIT: about 20k of that was remapped but at various stages of tune. It was fine with 250ftlb but only lasted a few k once the torque was at 280ftlb. It didn't help though that I was lazy on the motorway so made the car use peak torque in 5th rather than changing down, if I'd have adapted my driving style I'm sure the clutch would have lasted longer.

Coming up to 40k not had it replaced yet. but just been to Jabba so fingers crossed. Ok for now though.

About 40000 IIRC, mapped from 8000

Cheers gents. Hopefully I'll be ok for a few more miles then before I have to budget for a replacement! :)

95K, didn't get mapped till afterwards.

About 31k - or 1k after it was Revo'd:eek: . Not impressed with the bill either, got an uprated one from Jabba and so far ok, but feels different. Apparently its a Spanish Diesel one.

Still going strong @ 36k

I went for a G60 flywheel and Helix clutch rated at 400ftlb, was a big improvement over standard and cheaper than expected. It's since been replaced though due to a change of gearbox and now lives in another briskodians car.

Clutch went at 143,000 miles, one replacement later and now upto 153,000 miles

:)
