Not a Skoda but a VAG

Featured Replies

Hi,

I was wondering if any of you guys had any ideas about the problem my friend is suffering on his R reg 1.0 Seat Arosa. Basically if he starts the engine and leave it to idle it's fine, however when he's driving it and come to a stop at a junction the revs drop to 500rpm then bounce upto 800rpm and on occasion the engine completely dies. Any pointers for him?

I thought maybe it was an anti-stall mechanism that was a bit iffy but I don't know if the 1.0 Arosa has such a thing.

Fraid I don't have an answer to your question but I am intrigued as to your forum name, what do we call you?.

The second suggestion might not be so far off you know.

I'd clean the throttle body out and reset its basic settings.

Then recheck for any fault codes.

Thanks Lummox I'll pass the suggestion on.
