Skoda warranties

Featured Replies

Hello...

Interested in buying a new/used vrs....If I bought one from an approved Skoda dealer with a few thousand miles and a few months old say 6 months old. Do you get 12mth dealer warranty or the remainder of the manufacturers warranty i.e 2yrs 6mths manufac warranty. Because its varies among car makers doesn't it ???? thx

You would get the remainder.

Welcome to Briskoda!

You'll get the remainder of the 3 year/60,000 mile warranty. I believe the first 2 years are unlimited mileage, the 3rd is only applicable for those vehicles that have done 60,000 or less and it's a dealer warranty for the final year.

Somone correct me if I'm wrong.

In the 3rd year is it the dealer where the car was purchased, or any dealer. [car is 2yrs 6 mths old and 30k ]

The third year warranty is supplied by Skoda UK. As this is not applicable for Imported cars they car it a "dealer warranty" this is because the third year warranty is actually paid out of the Skoda UK goodwill budjet as non of it is paid by Skoda AG. This same idea applies to all VAG warranties. Therefore as long as you are under 60,999 miles or three years and 30 days old (except Feb) you car's warranty is vaild as ANY Skoda dealer. And yes you will get the remainder of the warranty on the vehicle 2.5 years.

Sorry for the bad typing. I need to learn to read through what I have mashed into the keyboard before posting it. EEK. You should get the gist....
