Web site help

Featured Replies

I have recently designed a simple website for my business.

Everything seems ok in Internet Explorer but in firefox it does not seem to be working exactly right.

When the site first loads up and you are at the home page you can click on the links to the other pages and everything works ok. However when i then click on the "home" link nothing happens.

Like i say it is only in firefox but i am new to making my own website so any advice would be much appreciated:thumbup:

I was not sure about putting the URL in this message as i do not want to be seen as advertising.

But if anyone wants it to have a try then PM me

Cheers:thumbup:

Rob PM me the URL and i'll have a go at it.

Send it to me and i'll have a look as well.

Did you write that using frontpage or something?

It is all fairly MS specific and made up of a single DIV.

I can't see any way of getting that to work in safari/Firefox happily and correctly without rewriting it using proper xhtml/CSS or at least compliant HTML.

I'm willing to give you a bit of time if needed though to help you though it.

Send it to me and i'll have a look as well.

Also another thing that i am having trouble with is that at the moment i have set the domain name up to "forward HTTP" or something like that.

This works but when you get to the site what you see in the address bar is not the domain name, it is the "proper" web address.

I tried changing to Forward using frames but can't seem to get that to work??

I want it so that when you type the domain name in and get to the site, the domain name is what you see in the address bar.

Thanks

It can cause problems with bookmarking pages though, in that no matter what page is bookmarked you end up back at the home page.

And they also create accessibility issues, and can make it hard for search engines to index and reference a site...

Though IMHO URLs shouldn't be hidden, as most users don't really pay much heed to them once they're in a site anyway.

Rob.

This page uses frames, but your browser doesn't support them.
