yep, I'm not a badge snob and like my cars to surprise people.

If its well priced, drives well and goes fast I'd consider it...

I can't see it taking off. The understatement is funny though.

Wonder what it's like in third gear!

No, It does look good, however it won't be as big as the Vrs or as well built.

we have a had a Fiat in the past, the reliability and build were not as good as a Skoda. Thought about a new Panda before we bought the Fabia. Our Fabia was better built and drove better even though it is 4 years old.

No , not because its a FIAT or because of the reputation of poor build quality , I just don't like the shape of the new Panda , although I did quite like the old one , in a kind of 'minimalist chic' style , especially the 4x4 Sisley.

A sporty little Fiat...... that will never work

I wouldnt buy a fiat. Not after the last two I had the displeasure of being involved with. Luckily not directly my financial burden, but a burden all the same with thewir dodgy parts.

Would anyone consider this or the 120BHP version as a replacement for the new furby ?

Hotter Panda Abarth on the way - News - Autocar Online

No, UNLESS - it was 4x4 and it was then increased to 150hp then maybe. The problems as many people have noticed, build quality on FIAT and size of the Panda. But I suppose its it aimed at the Suzuki Swift Sport / Citreon C2 market. Tiny sporty vehicles. :thumbdwn:

I thought Fiats were alright, the new ones seem to get decent reviews anyway.

If they do a decent turbo diesel i'd definately have a look when I come to get a new car.

How have SteVRs and andypandypoos managed to post messages hours in advance?

Having been out in a new Panda, I can confirm that FIATs are much better built than they used to be and probably just as well screwed together as any other small car :D

SWMBO's parents one is now 2+ years old IIRC with no problems :D

my mum used to have a Panda about 18 years ago, its was cr*p:eek:

so cheap and tinny sounding when the doors closed.

I wouldn't consider a Fiat or a Peugoet for that matter, after having 206 HDi for 2 weeks:thumbdwn:

Have you compared it to an 18 year old Skoda ;)

thats a point, but I think fiats still look a bit cheap, although the Punto sporting looks ok:)

oooops spilt yoghurt all over my keyboard now:P

I would consider it... (the arbarth, the 100bhp is much too slow! ;) )

Having been in the new Punto I wouldn't touch a FIAT with yours :thumbdwn:

My experience with Fiats is that they are fine up to a certain age - about 4 years then start to 'age' due to poor build/engineering quality. If you want to have a Fiat, keep it for about 3-4 years if its going to be regularly used.

how about a >Zorb< as an alternative to a Fabia vRS..?

:P

Agree to a certain extent, except with the couple I've had its been more like 2 years.....

At the end of the day though I've always found that any failings regarding build quality have been more than made up by the engines.

Fiat excel in building keen revvy little engines that just love to be hammered..... the diesels ain't bad either

Sounds like my experience with the Fabia too :thumbdwn:

i love that fiat panda! i think its an amazing little car, would like to take one out for a spin when i get a chance to go past a fiat dealer....however its alot smaller than a furby so wouldnt really be in the same league. its got a 6speed gearbox tho! the panda is for people who are looking for an alternat KA, Picanto, C2, as said before swift. the furby is a supermini not a super super mini lol:) i think you might miss the big car feel, if you was to get the panda.
