Fabia VR/S Options

Featured Replies

Can anyone list them. I'm seriously thinking about trading my Polo Sport tdi 100 for the VR/S but was put off because of the lack of options available.

The options I know you can get are;

Xenons

Cruise

Side Airbags

Sunroof

Climate ?

Heated seats ?

Anymore? If anyone has an option pricing list that'd be great.

Thanks

D

You can probably request this sort of literature from the Skoda website, or your local Skoda dealer. Is there any particular options you'd actually want?

The skoda website is lacking in information, I've called a dealer and I'm waiting for a response.

Basically I'd like everything listed above bar the sunroof. If they did the VAG auto dimming mirror and auto wiper option I'd put down my deposit in a heartbeat.

Your decision to buy a car is dependant on whether it has an auto dimming mirror and auto wipers - how strange. Not being controversial just find it odd... :D

I had the auto dimming mirror and rain sensor on my Golf, then when I purchased the Polo I did not take this up as an option and have regretted it ever since.

Of course this is not totally influential, if it does not come with the mirror/wiper combo then i'm not going to let this spoil my intent on purchasing what is a quick, economical, cheap car.

It's just something I'd like, if it's not available I'll see how much the Polo GT 130tdi is when it comes out, that will definately have more options.

Options prices are on Skoda UK's site. Look up Fabia then prices. Scroll down for options.

Ones you haven't mentioned are:

CD changer (RS only) -

Taken from an earlier post I made on this here

4UF Passenger airbag deactivate switch

There's also things like headlamp protectors, parcel shelf cargo net (v handy for carrying wine bottles!) or storage bag, boot floor cargo net, left/right boot storage bags, sub woofer for the stereo, waterproof seat covers (probably not for the vRS though).

Nose through the original accessories catalogue at the dealer - you should be able to get at least one of these extras included with a deal on a new Fabia.

I didnt realise a subwoofer was an option on the vRS

Nevertheless, I have an active 10 inch subwoofer in my Micra which I am going to rip out, does anyone know if this will hook straight into the standard headunit?

If you have the RCA cables, it should work OK with the standard HU. I'm also assuming you already have an amp too? You'll need to run the power cables under the trim too if so - but I guess you've already done that with the Micra.

Hmmm - just thought - I'll be having ICE install #2 soon - same equipment, same car, quite weird really. :D :speaker:

If you have the RCA cables

Although the standard HU probably won't have RCA outputs... :)

In which case, one is scuppered, isn't one? :D

I'm assuming there's more than one way to skin a cat... metaphorically speaking of course..

Yeah, best case is to cobble something together for the line out, worst case is to use the speaker output. Actually, best case would be to get an aftermarket HU with RCA outputs... :D

Yes' date=' it does, well, not quite ;)

Take a look here. It shows the special connector that has line level output. You'll need to get the connectors from a Skoda / VAG garage and make up a cable. A little tricky, but it does give you line level outputs, perfect for an amp.

The scanned page does have a typo though (I think). Further down on the page, you have the actual pinouts for front and rear line level outputs. :D

Hence my reference to "cobble something together for the line out"...and the line out from the Symphony in my car was pretty dodgy when I tried it!

Des,

I have found plenty of people who find rain sensing wipers more of a nuisance than a help. As for the mirror, I know it is handy but it is uncessary complication, something to go wrong. How hard is it to reach up and use the manual clip to lower the mirror?

With the Fabia, you get a car sharing all the major mechanical and electrical components with the Polo, one from a VAG branch with currently a better reliability record and also a bigger more practical body.

Take your pick on what is really important.

I am going to ring my Skoda dealer and ask if they will be able to fit my sub in the car for me, although I know what they are likely to say, but at least it appears it can be done.

Whats the quality like of the standard headunit and speakers? I also heard that the headunit does not play CD-R's, which would render it useless to me anyway.

The Fabia stock speakers are excellent, for a factory fit. But an aftermarker H.U only improved them more, and with the sub putting some :speaker: out in the boot, it made for a really enjoyable sound system, which could play everything from ballads like Dido songs, to trance/dance music...

Reminds me, must get that CD of Jons in the car once I'm ICE'd up again. :D

Unless you've had the auto dimming mirror and wipers, then bought a car that does not have these, you cannot appreciate how much you miss them.

Heated seats is an option I will definately go for, there's suprisingly more options available than those listed on the Skoda website. Thanks for the update guys.

There is another one which hasn't been mentioned - rear centre headrest with 3-point inertia seat belt. I have a vRS on order with this (and other) options. Though it's been on order since October '03 and not a whisper of a delivery date yet...

I rang my dealer today and they did not seem to think a subwoofer was an option. They seemed to think I'd be better off going for a better headunit anyway by the sounds of it...

I also thought I would ask if theres any chance of getting the car earlier :D Gotta phone the guy back tomorrow.

Get hold of a copy of the current Fabia Accessories brochure. On page 10 there's a subwoofer shown (Part No. ABC 400 001).

It's also on the Skoda UK website under the section for Fabia accessories...

Looks rather like a rebadged Blaupunkt sub.

Its probably the same Blaupunkt sub that I've already got anyway. The garage rang me back today and said its unlikely I'll get my new motor any earlier. DAMN!
