shiney!!!

Looking good Mike!

Two questions - is that your stretched Hummer outside as well? And is the girl in permanent situ in the passenger seat? ;-)

You got any aloys sorted out yet?

Steve

never even noticed that streched hummer!

Too busy focusing on the Fabia eh? It's ok; a valid excuse ;-)

Steve

of course - must of been the shiney grill! but how could you miss such a thing!! (the hummer:P)

Shiney indeed!

No one has spotted the minging Corsa in the top right either!

No, its not my hummer (sadly) and the girl in the seat (AKA "The missus") is really a blow up doll so I can use car pool lanes :D

No alloys as of yet, might wait till after dirty winter and make my mind up about the 16" / 17" dilema.

Ill be taking some more pics tomorrow hopefully so Ill whack the like or attach them to here! Heres some I did earlier though...

nice job mike, did you spray them yourself??:)

nice job mike, did you spray them yourself??:)

Cheers  , suprisingly I did paint them myself:eek: They look alright as well in the light even, but one of the brows is getting caught by my bonnet & taking some of the paint off slightly because its out of alignment slightly so I need to shift it over, is it easy to adjust the bonnet alignment?

Also, I think I might need to put a laquer over the top of them because I got a paint where the laquer was mixed in somehow but the paint has a dullish finish in comparison to the cars bodywork, but it is quite difficult to see the difference unless the light hits it in a certain way.

yes, you do need lacquer on metalic paints.... use plenty of water and some 1200grit wet and dry on it first to get it smooth.... then aplly the lacquer... build the lacquer up really slowly until you've got an even coverage, but dont put on too much!! the nput on another coat after about 20 miniutes... and whatever you do, make sure you dont touch the lacquer otherwise you'll get bit's of 'stuff' stuck all over it!

re-aligning the bonnet isn't easy to do on your own, you undo the bolts then move the bonnet, then re-tighten the bolts, but beware, the bonnetr is a lot heavier than it looks

hey nice job mate:)

Not to ruin your day or anything - but I think it looks cheap with that mesh.

What about color-coding, painting it mat black or black magic - do something... :(

Sorry... :o

I did think that a bit, but I havnt had a look in decent light yet. Should be simple enough to spray it black like, and I do agree at the moment I think it would look better black. Cheers for the input

Any tips on what paint to use?

Nice neat job with the mesh. I think it would be better in black personally.

That's exactly what I was thinking of doing to match my Milotec lower grilles. Was it just a flat bit of mesh you bought?

Did you have any problems?

Cheers
