Does anyone know if it's possible to get a high quality one? The one I have looks cheap and nasty and lets the side down badly. I want it to fit nice and be the same shade of black as the rest of the dash.

I think I may. The question, of course is, is it any good. The aftermarket adapter I'm using at the moment doesn't look very nice. Does the Skoda one replaced more of the facia and is it in the same finish as the original. I don't mind paying

I've not seen one myself but I have seen a not very attractive autoleads one!! I would be surprised if the Skoda one was rubbish and it should be made of similar plastic to the OEM stuff.

Ian (Hedge) had one in his car before he got an MFD2 and quite honestly it did look a bit shabby to say the least.

This is what you should get.

The picture's a bit vague. The picture looks like the standard facia plus a box of some kind. Maybe I should just order one to have a look, on the understanding that I won't buy it if it's not what I'm expecting.

A complete replacement facia that doesn't show any joins would be fantastic.

From what I can tell, the DIN adapter has an open slot for the headunit at the top, and then a cubby for storing stuff underneath. Is this true?

If so, is the cubby removable, as I want to fit a double DIN head unit?

It's only for a single DIN. The top of the shelf has air vents - very useful as my Blaupunkt casing gets too hot to touch when it's been on a while.
