so what happens when he slaps more tax on it?

so where does the extra cost come from if its a waste prodcut? surley it should be cheaper?

the economy and performance increase are a very good incentive though.

Well if that happens it becomes a different proposition, currently the duty on bio is 27.1p per litre and I can't see a duty rise for sometime given that it is a "greener" fuel.

The extra cost is because of the volume produced. In proportion to the volume of mineral diesel produced the costs are bound to be higher, of course if more people were to use it then the demand would increase and the price would come down....

I currently pay 86p per litre on a 200 litre drum.

The glass isn't half full or half empty. It's twice as big as it needs to be ;)

Where do you get your drum from? And does that price include the tax?

All sounds very good... and you get to be nice & smug when you're in front of those sodding Toyota Pius drivers who think that they're so much less polluting when they're sat on a vat of vicious corroding chemicals called "a battery".

i just get smug in their faces as global warming is a load of ******** and they hve brought a **** car for no reason what so ever

try it on red diesel for a laugh....that totally destoyed my fuel injection system

I've heard that what really kills with that stuff is if someone's tried to 'bleach' the dye out. Nasty acidic stuff they use, I believe...

On the veg oil thing, sticking in a bottle from down the shops every fill up or two should be OK then? I suppose the next question is which chain's value brand is best?

I wouldn't. As mentioned it contains too much glycerin and will not be kind to your fuel filter

I've been doing this for the past 10k with no problems.

To counter the fuel filter problem I'm just matching oil changes to fuel filter changes every 10k, and enjoying a quieter, smoother and slightly torquier engine.

I tried biodiesel in my remapped VRS. I dont reccommend it as it was very poor at starting but once it started it ran fine.

What proportion of biodiesel : mineral diesel were you using?
