What's the score with this engine? Is it any good or are the Ford equivalents better.

Appreciate that its not got the Supercar Slaying abilities of the good old PD 130 lump or the power/performance of the 2.0FSI or TFSI.

But is it good for everyday driving i.e keep up with the pace on motorways and will allow overtaking to be possible where there is a fair strech of road available?

Also what's the mpg like in a Golf/Octy size car?

I had one as a courtesy car for a day while my Fab VRS was in so I can give you a bit of an idea. It did feel rather gutless but its faster than it feels and will certainly keep pace on motorways etc.

Driven hard and it does consume a lot of petrol though, I think I had the one I borrowed down to about 30mpg recorded on the trip computer.
