Fitting turbo back exhaust!

Featured Replies

I have purchased a turbo back exhaust and wish to fit it myself,as i have access to a lift.

I know that i will have to cut the original exhaust off,but do i need anything to fit the new one on?

Thinking mainly around the turbo to seal it.

Does it have the same manifold type fitting on the turbo end? If it does, you can get away with bolting it to the turbo, sealing it with a decent amount of exhaust paste. Otherwise get a new gasket from Skoda. If its a cut and shut on the pipework, you'll need a decently long clamp, again sealing the pipework at each end with exhaust paste. This tactic was used with my allard downpipe. My 2.25" stainless fitted snugly inside the Allard downpipe (around 2.5"), so the two were slid inside one another with exhaust paste, then clamped tight over the top.

Aside from that, you might need to adjust / weld a bit if the exhaust mounts are in different places. :)

It's a full turbo back milltek which is about 7months old.

I assume that it should just bolt straight on where the old one is now.

So as long as i have some exhaust paste to seal the joints,it should be a staright forward job.May get a exhaust gasket as well.

Jay,

THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT, DO NOT USE EXHAUST PASTE ON THE DP/TURBO JOINT JUST A NEW GASKET, JOINTING PAST WILL DAMAGE YOUR CAT!!

When you fit the exhaust cold make sure that it is pushed forward as it will expand when hot and if sat in the right place when cold will more than likely foul when hot.

This is the Milltek of ebay then??

Makes it look pretty easy dont it
