I always dreamed of owning a 'Mexico' in my yoof.

Yours is mint mate, look after it.

Loving it.

that is sooo nice Alex

p.s. i still haven't fitted that 312mm brake set up you sold me , although i wished i had at Oulton Park on the 3rd of November , brakes smoking was an understatement

that looks amazing!!

The heater controls made me smile with fond memories of the Cortina my dad had around that time - Metal Slider that clicked into place when you reached the heat / cold setting you wanted :D

hang on to it, they are predicting these & the MK1 RS will shorty rise in value, they have just become eligible for more of the historic rallies etc & interest in them is growing rapidly, anything that looks like them is sure to have its value dragged up as well.

Anyone with an original Rs or Mexico its going to be money in the bank !!

May I ask " Who's the bloke on the Horse "......Looks like he's only got one bhp

They're going up in value every day. This is the 4th one i've had so far and just bought another one. This one is valued at about

Hats of mate what a lovely looking machine

Performance wise, the car will out do most others, a great sleeper car that gets to 100mph in about 7-8 seconds and will go onto 170+mph. I'm estimating a 1/4 mile of sub 12 seconds. Next year will confirm

That's got to be the best looking Mk1 i've seen in a LONG time!!

With that amount of power going through such small rear tyres i'd be surprised if she spent much time going in a straight line!?!?!?!

If i could have one car for 'fun' driving it would be something like that, congrats (you lucky sod!!).

Sideways is much more fun than straight line anyway. Will spin the wheels up in 5th when the turbo spools up if your not carefull. Requires extreme concentration, especially to drive it quickly.

Did a day at silverstone, only running 12psi of boost and could keep up with an Evo 400 FQ in a straight line!! But round the corners the photographer loved me and my sideways action.

Currently building another one for drifting and track action as this is a bit too clean and expesive.

That is stunning.

The engine bay alone is a work of art!

Are you pretty handy mechanically? I would love to have something like this but my concern has always been that to own something so specialist would require a good mechanical knowledge, or very deep pockets!

Bet it's amazing smoking porsches in a '72 ford!!!

Gorgeous car mate,truly awesome :D

I had a Mexico years ago but never as nice as that. Well done and keep us

up to date with your project.

i too always wanted a mk1 mexico when i was young... never did have one though.

This is awesome... top marks!!!

I dont usually like old cars but that one is absoloutly stunning.

Hat of to you, Alex.

I dont like fords. BUT...........................OMFG I want that so much. If I could find a smiley to depict my immediate erection, sorry reaction, then i'd pop it up.

Every credit to you.

Old Skool Fords are cool, just like other brands. New ones are mostly boring and front wheel drive!

Can't beat a good old TAX EXEMPT rear wheel drive monster! It will spin the wheels in every gear!

sweet car m8 . brings back good memories :)

Fantastic looking car, I WANT ONE.

I used to walk past a mk1 Mexico every day on my way to school and wanted one ever since. I did manage to own a white mk1 mexico and a red mk1 RS2000 but alas they slipped through my fingers when I went off to play with 2002 BMWs. Still makes me weak at the knees when I see one.

Yours is really nice, all credit to you for bringing to such a high standard.

Super cool. Fair play to you. Again, I'm not really a fan of stuff from this era, let alone Fords - but that's superb....

Yeah, must be quite an 'experience' to drive (!!)

Steve
