Sorry. Another wheel question.

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I have done a bit of searching but I'd like a definitive answer before I commit to buying these wheels.

They are 8x18, 5x100, ET35.

I will have -25mm springs fitted too.

Your help would be appreciated.

Paul.

With 225/30 tyres, I believe they will. Pretty tight though.

How tight is "Pretty tight though" :D

Worth doing ?

Duck's Ar$e springs to mind............:)

It does fit, and there's room for movement, but it is tight. I personally went for 17s with 215/40 tyres on the front.

I noticed here that Marcus mentions something about arch modifications. Is that more to do with the fact that coilovers are present ?

no it's to do with the fact that they are so wide.

i've got 7.5"x18 ET 35 and with a 40mm drop they rub over bumps and on full lock.

tried fronts with and without 5mm spacers and there is no difference. its going to have to be raised at the front when they go back on after winter.

rears might need a bigger offset but you should manage 8" ET 38 if pos

Well, I've told the guy I'll take them. :D

As is always the case with car forums there wasn't really a definitive answer after all :D

Someone running 8x18 and -25mm reckon they're fine others suggest that I may have problems.....we'll find out come summer ;):D

Anyone know of a pic of a red vRS running 18" Superleggeras ?

Anyone got any thoughts as to how I would get on with 7x17" et25 wheels? According to the 'online wheel offset calculator thingy' I would have more inside clearance, and 1mm better outer clearance than 8x17" et38 which i have seen fitted quite a few times.

Sorry for the thread hijack, but there are so many of these types of threads I thought it would save starting yet another....
