new folding hardware: Nvidia 8800

Featured Replies

Cool -- but how the hell would you set that up ??

This is a great idea but there is a little gotcha - it's gonna cost a fortune to run as the power consumption will be even higher

That said you could pack a LOT of folding power in a single machine I suppose :D

Might try to save up for another rig :D

Aye.. the 8800gtx is capable of pulling about 180 odd watts when being cained.. hence the 2 PCI-E power connectors (75w each) and the slot provides 75w too

Didnt realise you could fold using your gpu

My new pc could be a folding monster mabie running 4 wu at a time

with dual core and two x1900's (for crossfire)
